Nigerians demand justice for Enugu make-up artist allegedly killed by jealous lady, brother

Nigerians have demanded that justice must be served in the case of Ijeoma Nneka, 27, a make-up artist based in Enugu State, who was allegedly murdered by two siblings in November 2020.

The suspects; Chiamaka Ifezue, 26, and Chukwuemeka Ifezue, 21 were arraigned before the Chief Magistrate J. I. Agu of the Enugu North Magisterial District on Wednesday on allegations of murder but the magistrate declined jurisdiction and remanded them until February 24th.

The PUNCH reports that the accused persons allegedly murdered Ijeoma by compelling her to drink a poisonous substance and thereafter poured corrosive acid chemical on her body.

The siblings reportedly took this step on the basis that Ijeoma was reportedly dating Chiamaka’s boyfriend.

Nigerians have since expressed shock at the actions of the siblings as well as demanded that justice must be served.

Twitter user, Dominic Oluka said, “Ijeoma was my senior colleague during my university days in Psychology department Imo State University. Such a wonderful and beautiful soul. She doesn’t deserve to die this way #JusticeForIjeoma”

FabbyJnr tweeted, “If I’m from the same kindred or town of that Ifezue family, nobody that I know will ever get married to that family… Not a soul I know. Wickedness is in that family. Imagine what the family of Ijeoma is passing through right now. #JusticeForIjeoma”

Another Twitter user, BlueAfric wondered how the brother couldn’t talk his sister out of committing the act. He tweeted, “How did a love story become such a horrific and sad situation? How can a man help his sister kill another woman (Ijeoma) just because she’s dating his sister’s boyfriend? What happened to there are more fishes in the sea? Or let’s discuss this? #JusticeForIjeoma”
