The 14th edition of music awards, Headies is holding Sunday and due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is going to be a virtual event.
While the event itself is trending, fans are clear on which categories of the award are of interest to them.
The categories are the Next Rated Artiste and the Artiste Of The Year category.
In the Next Rated category, nominees include Tems, Omah Lay, Bella Shmurda and Oxlade.
For the Artiste Of The Year award, the nominees are Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Tiwa Savage and Mayorkun.
Twitter user, Biyi tweeted, “The #14thHeadies will be a virtual event due to COVID restrictions. Who’s going home with the Next rated Plaque tomorrow?”
Another user, Amarachi reacting to the nomination for the artiste of the year said, “This is tight but these people here don top chop award. Biko leave it for my Mayorkun. He has done a lot to my music list #14thHeadies.”
Twitter user, Chibuike has favourites and doesn’t mind if either wins. He tweeted, “If Mayorkun win Artiste of the year he would acknowledge Davido saying “I learnt from the best”. If OBO should win he would dedicate the award to Mayorkun and other 30BG members. Whichever way it plays out they both win. #14thHeadies #30BG #davido #14thheadiesaward”
Bryson Cole tweeted, “Tomorrow, I’ll sit in the comfort of my room and watch my favourite artiste win the next rated award at the #14thHeadies.”
