Amnesty International, Condemned arrest of Salihu Yakasai, Demand his immediate released

The amnesty international has condemned the arrests of former media aides to Kano state Governor Salihu Yakasai.

Yakasai was arrested this afternoon after he was sacked by the state Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.

He was sacked for condemning APC lead government on the recent kidnapping the is going on in the North.

According to the sacked letter sited by Omokoshaban, Ganduje describe Yakasai comment on the kidnapped of over 300 school girls in Zamfara as unguided.

The Global rights group, Amnesty International, who condemned the arrest of Salihu Tanko Yakasai, demand his immediate and unconditional released.

Yakasai, who was until Saturday afternoon, a media aide to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, was arrested by the Department of State Services on Friday.

Amnesty said in a tweet, “Amnesty International condemns the arrest of Salihu Tanko Yakasai for exercising his freedom of expression through a tweet. We call on the Nigerian authorities to immediately and unconditionally release him. #FreeDawisuNow

“Nigerian authorities must respect the right of citizens to express critical opinions. #FreeDawisuNow.”
