President Muhammad Buhari Decorates CDS, Services Chiefs

The President, Commander-in- Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, today 5 March, 2021 decorated the newly appointed Chief of Defence Staff and Service Chiefs with their new ranks.

The Chief of Defence Staff, now General Lucky Eluonye Onyenuchea Irabor, Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru, Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Zabairu Gambo and Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Oladayo Amao were decorated respectively.

The President was assisted by the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo and the spouses of the CDS and Service Chiefs in a colourful investiture which took place at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The promotion and investiture is a follow up to the successful screening and confirmation of the CDS and Service Chiefs by the Senate and House of Representatives.
