Governor Udom Emmanuel Warns Akwa Ibom Youths to indulge in Fetish oath ahead of 2023 election

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel has warned youths in the state against taking or administering fetish oaths, ahead of the 2023 elections.

The Governor dropped the warning while addressing congregants at the March edition of the Monthly Youth Prayer Conference held at The Apostolic Church, Ekpene Ukpa District, Eket Local Government Area.

Represented by the Commissioner for Lands and Water Resources, Pastor Umoh Eno, the Governor charged youths to take up meaningful engagements and be worthy ambassadors of the State.

The State Chief Executive hinted that the Government is making plans to absorb more youths through various industries and particularly mentioned the opening of Akwa Prime Factory.

On his part, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Matters, Comrade Aniefiok Wilson Iwaudofia lauded the Governor’s efficacious notches in youth development and industrialization of the State.

Comrade Iwaudofia who doubles as State Chairman of Youth Caucus described the Governor as a devoted Christian whose example and support has motivated the monthly Youth Prayer Conference, pointing out that the youth prayer conference has helped in drawing many youths closer to God.

Speaking further, Iwaudofia charged the youths to embrace hard work and diligence to work, as some of the key ingredients that could elevate them to higher positions in life.

“Before in government, the criteria for someone to become anything was that you must belong to this or that. But your Excellency, the only criteria to be in government now, is that you must not belong to anything, but you must belong to only God”, He added.

Government personalities who attended the March edition of the Conference with the theme “They that Seek the Lord” included Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Frank Archibong, Honourary Special Adviser on Health Matters, Dr. Dominic Ukpong, Chairman of Eket Local Government Council, Hon. Akaniyene Tommy, SSA on Branding and Marketing, Mr. Ime Uwah among others
