The youth who are worried about increasing security challenges in Nigeria said president muhammadu buhari has failed the entire Nigerian over his inability to address insecurities in the country.

Arewa Youths for Progress and Development (AYPD) has called for the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari for his administration’s inability to arrest insecurity and the dwindling economy.

The leader of AYPD, Danjuma Sarki, said that with the current state of the nation, the Buhari government had been incapacitated and could not address the increasing wave of insecurity and downturn of the economy.

Sarki corroborated Catholic priest, Fr. Ejike Mbaka, and other supporters of Buhari, who have called on the President to resign.The youth leader said: “It is obvious that Buhari has failed to lead the nation on the path of socio-economic, political and economic development. The best thing left for him is to resign honourably as President to save the nation from collapse and crisis.

“The level of insecurity in the country is increasing daily. Nigerians are being killed by Boko Haram in the north; there is kidnapping all over the country and killings by armed bandits, and the government has not proffered solution to all the crises. Is this how the nation will be governed under this threat, and Nigerians living in fears?”

He noted that even the erstwhile adherents of Buhari have backed out from supporting him and asking Buhari to resign.

“The government has failed woefully and the President should now resign. Let him go. He should save Nigeria. The level of killings and kidnapping is outrageous,” he added.

STILL on insecurity, the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Northern Nigeria, Rev. Yakubu Pam, has urged devastated communities in Plateau State, who suffered serial attacks, leading to loss of lives and destruction of property, to stand firm in protecting their communities.

The Executive Secretary, Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC), said, “government has shown commitment in the fight against insecurity in the country” and called for stringent measures to stem further attack.

Pam said this yesterday at the combined Local Church Council Service, held at LCC Gwe, Kwi in Riyom Local Council of Plateau.

“Kwi, as a community, needs the solidarity of every Plateau person. I want to appreciate the people of this community for standing strong amid persistent attacks.”

“Since 2015, it was like the people were going to be wiped away; there has being mourning and lamentation up to 2018. Worse things have happened in this community, but you have to stand strong like the soldiers of the olden days,” he said.

Chairman of Riyom Local Council, Mafeng Gwallson, encouraged the people to be steadfast, and go into their farms as the farming season is approaching.
