Justice For Mrs Lucy Nwaorie and Tony Bassy Imo: Daughter of woman killed in Benin demand

It was indeed a black Thursday for us at 1, Efehi Street Off College Road Aduwawa, Benin City.

At about 10:00hrs, two guys ( Osagie Ufua AKA “Stone” And Charles Oseghale AKA “Agada” came around the neighbourhood and Engaged themselves in smoking Canabis Sativa ( Indian Hemp ) while at the same time taking assorted alcoholic substances, at this point, Stone ordered Agada to board his already stationed Tricycle ( Keke ) to fetch him ( Stone ) his Double Barrel Gun which Agada quickly ablidge to and got it delivered to him, upon Agada’s arrival, he quickly dispatched Agada and the said Tricycle Rider whose name was identified as ( Nura ) to go get him a carton of Bullets and this was delivered to him without wasting time, he then told his accomplices that “He Wants To Warm The Area” this statement generated divigergent opinion from some onlookers who ask Stone, Agada And Nura to abort their plans of warming the area but Stone rebuffed them and relocated to another spot where he used the lime tree in front of our house as cover.

Stone went ahead to load his Gun with the aid of Agada because the said Stone has a fractured hand and immediately after loading the Gun, Stone raised the gun and laid it on his shoulder, then he fired a shot directly to where my Mum and Tony were sitting and the bullet hit my mother ( Mrs Lucy Nwaorie ) And Her customer ( Mr Tony Bassey Imo ) Immediately my mom shouted that she have been shot at and they were both bleeding profusely, Stone called the same Tricycle Rider ( Nura ) to whisk him away with his gun.

It was neighbours and passers-by who rushed the victims of the bullet injuries with the aid of a good samaritan police officer “F” who accompanied them to Our Clinic Hospital but Tony gave up the ghost on the way to the hospital.

On getting to Our Clinic Hospital, my mother was rushed in while Tony’s Corpse was taking to the embalment section of the hospital, after running checks on my mother, the doctor on duty referred us to the Specialist Hospital ( Emergency Unit ) where upon arrival, doctors confirmed my Bundle of Joy Dead and she was conveyed back to Aduwawa Police Division where a case file have been initially established and the Police hierarchy there assigned another Police Officer who went with us to deposit her Corpse at Our Clinic Embalment Section where both Corpse are currently been deposited.

Osagie Ufua Alias Stone who I believed was hired to carry out this heinous crime has not stepped his feets on our street for so many years but he was sighted twice on our street on Wednesday 19th May 2021 before showing up the following day been 20th to kill My Mother and Tony.

What baffles me most was how God saved my Three Months Old Baby who Tony was carrying when these daredevil men struck.

Before their sudden and painful death, my mother gave birth to Seven children of which I am the Eldest and she have being our only source of hope and survival since the demise of our Late Father so many years ago while Tony whose wife gave birth to a baby boy of not up Three Months Old have now been made a widow.

Our collective demand is that Justice ⚖ must be served undermining who is involved because the suspect “Stone” who was transferred to Edo State Police Command was heard saying that this is a small case considering the one’s he have been involved in previously.

I appeal to the Inspector General Of Police, Governor Godwin Enogheghase Obaseki, Assistant Inspector General Of Police In charge Of Zone 5, Edo State Police Commissioner, The Judiciary And The Good Men Of Edo State Police Command, Civil Society Groups and all well meaning Nigerians to assist us in getting Justice For Our Breadwinner ( Mrs Lucy Nwaorie ) And Tony Bassey Imo whose purposes in Life have been cut short.

We the families are tendering this passionate appeal because we don’t want this crime to be swept under the carpet.

Ever since the murder of our mother who is our breadwinner, me and my younger siblings are finding it difficult to cope with the harsh and volatile society.

I graduated from the prestigious University Of Benin in Banking and Finance Department but I have been unable to secure a job. Her untimely death has created a large vacuum in our family.

My father and mother hail from Awgu Local Government of Enugu State but they settled her in Benin City, gave birth to the Seven (7) of us and we were raised here.

Thankxs,
God Bless Nigeria And Edo State.

Signed: Nwaorie Christopher Uche ( Deceased Eldest Son ) 21st/May/2021
