Sunday Igboho, Others Drags President Buhari and others to International Criminal Court.

▪︎International Criminal Court Acknowledges Sunday Igboho’s Petition Against Buhari, Malami, Others.

An intergovernmental organization and international tribunal that sits in The Hague, Netherlands, the International Criminal Court, ICC has acknowledged a petition filed by Yoruba Nation agitators accusing Nigerian authorities of committing crimes against humanity and genocide.

The 27-page petition was filed by:
▪︎Chief Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho, Leader of Ilana Omo Oodua,
▪︎Emeritus Professor Banji Akintoye,
▪︎Chief Simisade Kuku; Leader of Yoruba Strategy,
▪︎Imam of Yoruba in Ilorin, Kwara State, Shielk Raheem Aduranigba and over 40 other Yoruba Nation Groups.

The petition was filed against:
▪︎President Muhammadu Buhari,
▪︎AGF Abubakar Malami,
▪︎IGPs Mohammed Adamu
▪︎Ibrahim Idris, ▪︎Ex-COAS Tukur Buratai,
▪︎Comptroller General of Customs, Hammed Alli;
▪︎Chief of Army Staff, Farouk Yahaya, ▪︎Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba,
▪︎former Chief of Airforce, Sadiq Abubakar;
▪︎former Commandant-General of NSCDC, Ahmed Abubakar Audi; ▪︎Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Services, Mohammed Babandede
▪︎Commandant-General of NSCDC, Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu.

It would be noted that the ICC is the first and only permanent international court with jurisdiction to prosecute individuals for the international crimes of genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and the crime of aggression.

Acknowledging the petition, the ICC’s Head of Information and Evidence Unit of the Office of the Prosecutor, Mr. Mark P. Dilon, stated that,
“This communication has been duly entered in the Communications Register of the Office. We will give consideration to this communication, as appropriate, in accordance with the provisions of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.”

“As soon as a decision is reached to formally commence investigation into this petition, we will inform you, in writing, and provide you, with reasons for this decision.
