Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki said Nigeria will remain as one country.
Obaseki say this when he received former chief of army staff, Tukur Buratai in Edo government house yesterday.
The governor who disclose his discussion with Tukur Buratai said
“While addressing the Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic of Benin and former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai (rtd), during a courtesy visit at the Government House, Benin City, I expressed optimism that the country will overcome its present security challenges.
In extolling Buratai for his service to the nation, I stressed that the foundation he laid as Chief of Army Staff is what we are building on today.
As a state, we will continue to work with the national authorities. Like I always say; Nigeria has come to stay. We are facing our challenges like other countries and communities in the world and that is where we need leaders like the ex-Army chief.
Earlier, Buratai said he was in Benin to inaugurate the Buratai Centre for Contemporary Security Affairs, named after him by Igbinedion University, Okada, also congratulating me for my developmental strides in Edo.”
