Zamfara State Govt intercepts bandits’ food, fuel suppliers

The government of Zamfara state said it has incepted vehicles conveying food, drinks and fuel to various bandits’ camps in the state.

The interception was disclose by the state, through Abdulrasheed Haruna.

Mr. Abdulrasheed Haruna, who is the secretary of the state task Force on security made this known to News Agency of Nigeria in Gusau on Wednesday.

Haruna told the News Agency of Nigeria that the suspected collaborators were handed over to security agencies for further investigation, while those with light offences were being tried by a mobile court established by the task force.

According to him, the closure of weekly markets and filling stations by the government had curtailed supplies of food and other essential services to the bandits.

“We believe that these have forced the bandits to relocate en masse from the state,” he said.

Haruna further said the task force had set up 11 sub-committees to monitor and ensure total compliance with all elements, as contained in the executive order.
