Body of Abducted Customs Officer Found Dead in Ogun as Ejibunu Gives Final Warning to Smugglers

The body of a Customs Officer who was allegedly abducted on Tuesday by suspected smugglers in Ogun State has been found. This makes it two officers killed in an ambush.

Suspected smugglers on Tuesday, ambushed a Customs patrol team at Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun, and abducted two Customs Officers in the process.

The body of one of the officers was found in a river near Fagbohun Village. After hours of search, his rifle was later found a few metres away from the river where the body was dumped.

The Acting Comptroller in charge of FOU Zone ‘A’, DC Hussein Ejibunu in a Press Briefing at the Headquarters of the Unit, recounts the number of attacks on his officers.

He called on appropriate authority to note the series of attacks on the operatives going about their lawful duties.

He said Nigeria Customs Service has the right to protect the nation against economic saboteurs and won’t rest until it achieves that.

He prayed for the heroes who lost their lives and extended his condolences to their families, colleagues and friends.
