President Muhammadu Buhari highlight his one week activities in Parris.

I have spent this week in Paris, on an Official Visit, as well as to take part in a series of events and bilateral meetings to speak about what our administration is doing and accomplishing in Nigeria, and to strengthen relations with various partners.

On Wednesday, November 10, 2021, I delivered a keynote address at the maiden edition of the Nigeria International Partnership Forum.

My main message was that Nigeria is fully open for partnership and cooperation. I invited the French business community to take advantage of the vast investment opportunities in Nigeria, and assured that we will stand together with France and its people and businesses, to guarantee our mutual interest.

From there I proceeded to Palais de L’Élysée for a working lunch with President Emmanuel Macron.

Our discussions touched on business and investment matters, security, the Covid-19 response, monetary policy in West Africa, and the political situations in Libya, Chad and Mali.

On Thursday I joined world leaders, heads of international organisations, leaders of civil society and the private sector at Grande Halle de La Villette, for the Paris Peace Forum.

In my Keynote Statement at the Forum, I called for new thinking around the issue of global access to Covid-19 vaccines. We must do whatever it takes to plug the vaccine supply gap in Africa. The current state of affairs, marked by export restrictions, hoarding, supply chain constraints, and so on, must change.

On Friday, I spoke at a ceremony to mark the 75th anniversary of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation UNESCO.

Nigeria remains proud of its close association with UNESCO since its establishment. Seventy-five years of building together a more advanced, knowledgeable and prosperous world through education, science, culture, communication and information.

Nigeria’s relationship with the organisation has been ever-expanding and mutually beneficial, and we look forward with eagerness to the future. There is indeed no better time than now to canvass for solidarity for the enthronement of global peace and development.
