Final year student beats his Female project supervisor to coma in UNILORIN for refusing to help in his SIWES

Final year student allegedly beat his project supervisor to comma after she declined helping him out of his SIWES.

According to the report, the 400-level student of the Department of Microbiology of University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), identify as Captain Walz reportedly beat a female lecturer of the university to coma.

Problem started as Captain Walz visited the lecturer’s in her office on Thursday, November 11. 2021, to seek her help because he didn’t Participate in the compulsory Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES).

But the female lecturer, identify as Mrs Zakariya, who is also the student’s project supervisor decline to help him.

Following her refusal to help him, Walz reportedly became furious and assaulted the lecturer inflicting severe injuries on her

Mrs Zakariya was subsequently rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Confirming the incident, the institution’s Director of Corporate Affairs Mr Kunle Akogun told Daily Trust that the lecturer is now in a stable condition.

“Yes, the incident is to true but lecturer is now in a stable condition. The Vice Chancellor, Prof Abdulkareem Age visited her in the company of some Dean’s and other university staff.

“They described further described the incident unfortunate and sad and assured justice will be done on the matter.,” Akogun said.

He added that the Vice Chancellor of the university ordered that the victim be treated on the bill of the institution.
