As the largest economy in Africa, Nigeria will continue to show leadership and drive in matters of trade and investment on the continent – Buhari

The president said:

The President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the African Export-Import Bank African Export Import Bank – Afreximbank, Prof. Benedict Oramah, visited me yesterday, ahead of the opening ceremony of the 2nd Intra-African Trade Fair Conference in Durban, South Africa.

I expressed my appreciation for the support the Bank has been giving Nigerian businesses and the Nigerian economy as a whole. We count Afreximbank as a valued partner in the journey towards economic growth and prosperity in Nigeria.

Accompanying Prof. Oramah was the the Secretary-General of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat, Wamkele Mene.

As the largest economy in Africa, Nigeria will continue to show leadership and drive in matters of trade and investment on the continent.

I am pleased that Afreximbank has chosen Abuja, Nigeria as the site for their Africa Medical Centre of Excellence project, which will be transformational for healthcare in Nigeria, and set new standards in quality of infrastructure and service delivery.

I look forward to the groundbreaking ceremony for that project, which will take place soon. We will give the project all the necessary support.

We will continue to do everything in our power to attract investment to Nigeria, across various sectors of the economy. And we will be counting on serious and committed partners like Afreximbank, to bring these investment goals to reality.
