In line with his urban renewal plan, Adamawa Governor Rt. Hon. Ahmadu UmaruUmaru Fintiri said on Wednesday that he plans to build another flyover bridge in the state capital before the end of his term.
With this accomplishment, Adamawa would be the only state in the country’s northeastern region to have three flyover bridges in its metropolitan capital, thanks to the Fintiri government.
Governor Fintiri made the revelation in a press conference shortly after inspecting work on the grade interchange at Yola’s former police roundabout, which is nearing completion.
The Governor praised the work’s quality and progress, promising that his administration would continue to provide purposeful leadership for the betterment of the people’s lives.
“The entire job is amazing and fantastic, and our employees are delighted with it.” “By fulfilling our mandate along the road, we will continue to provide such edifice that would ease the lives of the people,” he said.
In response to a question on why the project is still underway despite the current economic downturn, the Governor stated that the government has accomplished this by reducing waste in governance.
We’re reducing waste and directing resources to the most effective channels. “We’re doing this to help the state recover from the suffering it’s been through, such as insurgency and other forms of criminality,” the Governor explained.
Governor Umaru Fintiri thanked the citizens for their support and stated that the government will continue to do what the people desire in order to improve the state’s development.
In response to criticism of government initiatives by some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Governor stated that the state had no opposition but noise makers.
They were providing this opportunity, but they were unable to take advantage of it. They didn’t even look at this state to see what they could find. We’ve been here for less than three years, and people can see actual and significant developments on the ground,” he remarked.
Alhaji Adamu Atiku Abubakar, the Commissioner of Works and Energy, stated that the grade interchange project is 90% complete and that it will be completed before the end of the year 2021.
Engineer Elie Abu Farahat, Managing Director of Triacta Nigeria Limited, stated that the projects will be finished on schedule and that the company will ensure that the work is of high quality.
Commissioner and Permanent Secretary Ministry of Works and Energy, Adamu Atiku, and Engineer Suleiman Mohammed showed Governor Umar Fintiri around the legacy project.
