Here is the lifeless body of Ugochukwu Chinyere, a native of Ohuru-Amaisi in Obingwa LGA, Abia State, whose life was snuffed out untimely in a gruesome manner by officers of the Nigeria Police force attached to the Ohuru Isimiri Police Station in Obingwa LGA.

A youngster who, out of poverty and tolerance went through our poor education system at the Abia State Polytechnic, with tears and sweat, and ended up not being employed – the next thing, he is soaked in his own pool of blood.

How did we find ourselves in a society where lives are merely worth two a penny? Day in and day out, innocent souls are brazenly losing their lives for no sensible reasons in the hands of members of the Nigeria police force. And the most heartbreaking situation is that these trigger happy assailants go scot-free to carryout their barbaric acts another day.

I call on the Inspector general of the Nigeria police force,Usman Alkali Baba, the Abia State commissioner of Police, Mrs. Janeth Agbede to swiftly swing into action and bring the perpetrators of this dastardly act to book.

It is sad and heartbreaking that one year after the #End_Sars_protest, the scale of police brutality is still beyond comprehension.
