Read the full gist below

Dear Shamsudeen Raji,

The name Reno is an African name. An Itsekiri name to be precise. Given to me by my grandfather, Prince Moju Igbene, who was Olu Ikengbuwa II. I have four other names. All of them are Itsekiri names. I have no European name.

I have four children. None of them have European names. They all have Itsekiri or Igbo names.

Meanwhile, Shamsudeen, your name is not of Nigerian, or even African origin. It is of Arabic origin. You can imagine a man with an Arabian name accusing me of having a European name. Take a look in the mirror and make your accusation to whoever you see.

I have read both the Quran and the Jewish Torah and Christian New Testament. Nowhere in any of these books does it say you have to have a Jewish or Arabic name in order to be a good Jew, Christian or Muslim.

Thank you and may God bless you.
