Bill in the House of Reps proposing the scraping of NSCDC is unnecessary – Senator Shehu Sani

Former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Representing Kaduna, Senator Shehu Sani has react to the bill in the House of Representatives proposing the scrapping of National Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC.

Shehu call for the rejection of the bill, says that Civil Defense has been playing prime roll in securing the country.

He said:

The Bill in the House of Reps proposing the scraping of NSCDC is unnecessary and retrogressive.The Civil Defence as a prime security agency have been playing a distinctive and complementary role in our security system.With due respect,that Bill should be rejected.

Nigerian lawmaker representing lseyin/ltesiwaju/ Kajola/lwajowa Federal Constituency in Oyo State at the House of Representatives, Shina Peller, has proposed scrapping of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps.

Peller while given the reasons he want NSDC scrapped, stated that the security outfit is like a copy of Nigerian Police Force.

The bill has already pass first reading.
