You can’t Ask Igbos to Go Home Now – Charles Ogbu on the kiIIing of Madam Harira and her 4 kids in Anambra

Of all the unspeakable atr0cities like k!lling, ma!ming and even beh£ading of Igbos so far carried out by the so called Ungun Known Men, the senseless and hat£-induced k!ll!ng of Ms. Harira and her 4 kids qualifies as the “most unkindest” of them all. As an Igbo man, I feel personally ashamed. Diminished, even! that this level of savagery could happen right there in our own Ala-Igbo. Innocent children. Children for God’sake!! All four of them. Together with their pregnant mother 😢

Harira Jibril (Mother) was just 32
Fatima 9
Khadija 7
Hadiza 5
Zaituna 2

All 5 of them brutally murdered!

May their killers and all their silent supporters never know peace!

Few years ago, we could gladly beat our chest and describe the southeast as the most peaceful region in Nigeria and we would be right being that there was a UN report to back up the claim.

Few years ago, in the event of one of the regular crises in the North which almost always end in Northerners spilling bl00d and destr0ying properties of Ndigbo, you could proudly tell your family members living in the North,

‘enyi e, unu rapunu ugwu awusa gbadata Ala-Igbo tupu ndi ugwu na enwero ihe ha ji ndu madu eme egbufuo unu’

Few years ago, no matter which part of the globe you are residing in, the moment you get to river Niger, on your way home, there is this pristine air of Peace and Security that envelopes you, almost like a voice saying, ‘You Are SAFE Now.

Now, you can’t even tell your family member resident in the North to leave that volatile region and come back home because the home you used to come back to, has been hijacked by a gang of IS!S-styled h£ad-cutt!ng barbarians masquerading as freedom fighters 😢

Today, an Igbo man stands a far greater chance of being k!lled or ma!med or beh£aded by his fellow Igbos speaking distinct unmistakable Igbo dialect than the Fuulani herdsm£n once touted as the biggest existential threat facing Ala-Igbo. The irony is as paradoxically tragic as it is dumbfoundly shameful. If this were to be a movie, I would simply pause and di£ laughing, laughing at the improbability of this ever happening in Ala-Igbo. Alas, I would have laughed wrong.

Koffi Awooner’s SONGS OF SORROW aptly describes our sorry situation right about now. But while the late Awooner’s poem is a mere fictional work that got its root from his native Ewe people of Ghana, ours is as real as reality can be.

But let’s be honest, WE THE IGBOS BROUGHT THIS ON OURSELVES. We are the main authors of this our current misfortune. To claim otherwise is to lie to ourselves.

Just as it was in “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” by the 18th century German writer and politician, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, so it is with us right about now. The demon that we summoned, we cannot now dismiss.

May mother nature and all the elements of the universe treat these terr0rists and all their sponsors and enablers to a fate far worse than death.

May Ms Harira and her 4 kids and all the other innocent people k!lled by these s0ulless beasts rest in peace.
