Black Saturday: as stampede killed Over 40 people during church programme in Porthercout

Scores of people are feared dead after they were trampled upon in a stampede that happened at Polo Club in Port Harcourt.

The stampede happened early hours of Saturday when a crowd of people forced their way into Polo Club in Port Harcourt where a church called, Kings Assembly was hosting an annual “Shop for free programme”.

It was gathered that members of the public tried to force in their way through the gate as early as 6:30am which resulted to the stampede that caused the deaths.

Video shows some of the victims of the stampede on the floor as doctors and nurses at the Military Hospital, Port Harcourt, are trying their best to attend to them and save as many people as possible.
