Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State on Saturday clinched the PDP gubernatorial ticket in the state with 646 votes cast by the delegates to enable him participate in 2023 gubernatorial election.
In his victory speech after the party’s primary election conducted at Zaranda Hotel, Bauchi, Governor Bala Mohammed explained that, clinching the gubernatorial ticket will afford him the opportunity to consolidate on the gains made by his administration especially providing citizens with more dividends of democracy.
“I want to thank the Secretary to the Bauchi State Government who is the former PDP gubernatorial candidate for withdrawing from the race in my honour, I will not take this honour for granted, i will play my politics with fairness and carry everyone along.
“I want to assure you that I am ready to work for the PDP, because in my own dictionary, there is no laziness. I am aware other parties have conducted their primaries, election is not about war, but it is a competition. Politics is not about policies and Programmes, it is the ability to work for the interest of the people.”
Governor Bala Mohammed who pledged to continue to do things that will move the state forward as according to him, the purpose of governance is development and management of people and called for collective efforts for the victory of PDP.
