Nyesom Wike, A Man That Belongs To Tomorrow. – Chidi Cali

A week ago after the PDP Presidential primaries, the Rivers state Governor, Nyesom Wike was announced a close second, polling 237 delegate votes, to the eventual winner, HE Atiku Abubakar. There have been varying opinions on his participation, result, cost implications and undeserved invective from some quarters.

To me, I was disturbed by the level of ignorance exhibited by those mocking Wike’s giant strive especially from the Southern part of Nigeria. Considering the disproportionate allocation of Local authorities between the North and the South, the 237 delegate votes received by Wike should be celebrated as that will give any Southerner a hope that clinching a presidential ticket of a major political party in the nearest future will be possible.

Wike has set a pace, it is up others to up their game with proper strategy and coordination.
The Rivers state Governor did not fail, this is perhaps the beginning of greater strides to come.
The Governor is a man of tomorrow, he make mistakes like most human, in most cases says inappropriate things, however, I see him as a Red Wine, he will get better with time.

Lastly, I have respect for his courage and character by refusing to leave his party, the PDP after convention and going further to pledge support to the eventual winner of the ticket, Atiku Abubakar. This made everyone a winner.

In appreciation, I am offering Wike an Intercontinental Dinner in one of the best Restaurants in London any time he visits.
