Two Policemen Confirmed Death in Buhari Terrorist Convoys Attack

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicly issues contradictory statement to Nigerians over the attack on President Muhammadu Buhari Convoys yesterday by terrorist when he is on his way to Daura, Katsina State for Salah celebrations.

In press release confirming the attack, Garba Shehu told Nigerians nobody’s was killed in the attack.

According to him, only two Policemen sustain Minor injuries and are currently being treated.

However update from the attacks confirmed that two Policemen were killed from the attacks.

Confirming the killings, Senator Shehu Sani took to his Twitter handle few minutes after the Attack to pay tribute to one of the police that lost his life from the attacks.

She Sani said

The killing of the Assistant Commisioner of Police Aminu Umar Dayi by terrorists in Katsina State today is tragic & unfortunate.A great loss to the police @ the nation.We appreciate his life of service & sacrifice.mh condolences to the @PoliceNG

In separate statement, Katsina State Police command confirmed the death of two officers.

The statement read.

“Today (Tuesday), July 5, 2022 at about 11.30am, a distress call was received that terrorists numbering over 300, on motorcycles, shooting sporadically with AK 47 rifles and General Purpose Machine Guns, ambushed ACP Aminu Umar, Area Commander, Dutsinma and team, while on clearance operation of recalcitrant bandits/terrorists, in Zakka Forest, Safana Local Government Area of Katsina state.


“Consequently, the Area Commander and one other gallantly lost their lives during a cross exchange of gun fire.

“The Commissioner of Police, Idrisu Dauda, on behalf of the officers and men of the command, expresses his deep sympathy to the family of the deceased and pray to almighty Allah to repose their souls in Jannatul Firdausi.”
