The Himba tribe of Namibia cling to their culture in face of modern life

Hamba are among the few tribes in Africa still maintaining their ancient way of life.

Himba girls put on school uniforms when they go to school but when they return home, they put on their traditional attire and red ointment.

Himba students at universities, wear modern clothes like other students but when they go home at the end of the semester they also put on their traditional attire.

Even professionals such as nurses, teachers, doctors ect, also wear their Himba traditional attire.

A significant number of Himba live in the north western region of Namibia, in the towns of Outjo and Opuwo.
