PHOTOS: Kogi Flood Victims Recount Aftermath

Some social media users have been recounting their experience with the flood that ravaged Lokoja in Kogi State in recent times.

One of the victims, a Facebook user, Theophilus Impact, shared pictures from his compound which is still flooded days after.

He said, “This is my compound here in Lokoja where I have been a victim of flood for weeks. I know everything happens for a reason.
Father Lord let your will be done.”

Another victim, Obansa Ibrahim, revealed that Sunday was his last day at his residence along CAC Road in Lokoja.

Obansa said, “Finally, this morning I had to say goodbye to my residence of over 15 years. The warning came, the flood threatened, the water rises steadily and here we are, the water is finally here. This is CAC Road and Lokoja. But in all I give glory to Almighty Allah. It could have been worse but Allah took control. My sympathy goes to my neighbors. We have got to be strong and move on.
When there is life, hope is not lost. Checking out for good. Life goes on.”

A motorist, Robertson Ere, also shared photos and videos of how the flood has impacted traffic.

“2022 Flood: River Niger overflowing the Abuja-Lokoja road and causing traffic jam for motorists,’ Ere said.
