A 24 year woman , Miss Oluomachi Nwaojo,a native of Abiriba in Ohafia Local Government of Abia State has been delivered of quintuplets in the early hours of Tuesday at the Federal medical center Umuahia.
She was delivered of three girls and two boys.
A nurse at the post nantal ward in the hospital identified as Chibuzour,
told our correspondent that the three girls we strong, while the two boys were receiving experts care at the inborn unit of the hospital.
She said the mother of five conceived through the natural way without any fetility procedure.
she said, The mother is doing well, but she is still in pain because she went through cesarean session. That is why we are retricting the number of visitors troping to the ward when the news filttered into town.
‘The girls were the first three to be delivered and they are sound. The boys are receiving experts care and will soon join their mother”.
The grand mother of the quintuplets Precilla, expressed Joy at their birth, saying they are a huge blessing to the family.
She revealed that multiple birth runs in her family lineage, but this is the first time a quintuplets would be delivered to the family.
She Solicited help from the government and good spirited Nigeria to assist the family pay the hospital bill and care for the babies.
She said, “I had two set of twins. My daughter that delivered these five babies is also a twin.
“This is huge blessing from God, but we are calling on the government and good spirited individuals to assist us financially so that we can pay our hospital bills and care for these babies”.
