should we fold our arms and let the marketers kill our people with their exorbitant prices of commodities?

Complement to you all.
My heart is filled with pains as I’m writing this piece.
The point I’m treating is the high cost of commodities in Ebiraland as a whole. I have traveled to some northern parts of the country and I sat down to analyze what my dear people are going through in terms of how things are so expensive in Ebiraland.
Below are some of the highlights of my findings so far,

  1. My mother is a diabetic patient and she is on drug called GLUCOVANCE. This drug I usually buy from Kwadeco or Siltex at the rate of 3,400 Naira per pack. The same drug was bought in Kaduna by my brother at 2,000 Naira per pack just few days ago.
  2. A friend of mine battling with sight problem is on recommendation of an eye drop called Xalatan. He do buy this eye drop in Okene at the rate of 5,500 Naira. This same drug was bought from Kaduna at 2,000 Naira only.
  3. The MBF boards which furnitures uses to carry out their works. It’s been sold in Abuja at 5,000 Naira each but in Okene, we are buying it at 6,000 Naira each. My furniture who did a work for me last year can testify to this.
  4. The hausas are not left out of this. The cucumber 🥒 that you can get 2 for 50 Naira in Kubwa, Abuja, you will buy one at 70 Naira in Okene here.
I can keep on mentioning the rot going on in my dear land.
What are the concern authorities doing about this extortion?
Our transportation system is worst especially during festive periods.
What if the patient with sight problem go blind because you are selling his prescribed eye drops at 5,500 naira instead of 2000 naira?
What is really their moral justification on high cost of things in Ebiraland?
We are more closer to Onisha or Lagos than any of the mentioned states above and shops are more cheaper here.
The concern authorities should take this up as a matter of urgency.
I have done my capability as a human being.
    Aliyu Ogueyi Abdulsalam.
