His Excellency, Umaru Tanko Almakura, Governor, Nasarawa State, on Tuesday said that he administration has focus on the way to find everlasting solution between Egbura and Bassa Kwomu people in Nasarawa State.
The Governor say this when he presided over a meeting with Commander, Operation Whirl Stroke with Stakeholders of BASSA and EGBURA ethnic Group of TOTO Local Government Area today, at the house Lafia, today.
According to Yusuf Galadima Aliyu PA(media) to Gov. Almakura, Reporting from Nasarawa State Government House Lafia Said, “Governor Umaru Tanko Almakra in his remarks, said history will not forgive any societal leaders that failed to provide peace and stability to their community. That his administration has been focus on fundament peace mechanism to ensure BASSA and EGBURA leave in the same environment in peace. The Governor has commended the effort of the commander operation whirl stroke, Bassa and Egbura people adding that he will continue to support Operation Whirl Stroke under the leadership of Major Yakini and the affected two parties to ensure harmonious coexistence among the communities. Almakura furthered warned anyone who might like to conduct his or her self in a manner capable of causing mayhem in the area.
Earlier, the Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State Barr. Mohammed Hassan Abdullahi introduced the parties constituted the membership of the meeting and confirmed to his excellency that all parties invited were adequately represented.
On the security remarks, the Commander, Operation Whirl Stroke, Mr Adeyemi Yakini, gave an assurance of the full return of displayed people of BASSA and EGBURA in fact all were affected in the area to their various places.
