Energy Required by Bacteria to Grow

BACTERIA REQUIREMENT SOURCES GROWTH

The bacteria are group into the following;

Base on their energy

And base on how they obtain carbon to manufacture organic molecules.

Base on their energy

Some bacteria use sun light via pigment to manufacture their nutrient, such bacteria are found in soil and water, this mode of synthesis is called phototrophic mode nutrition.

Some use oxidation of inorganic substance to obtain their food, such bacteria are called chemolithotrophs mode of nutrition. While some bacteria use oxidation of organic substance to obtain their food, this type of bacteria are called chemganotrophs mode of nutrition.

All medically important bacteria fall into the last group which uses organic substance to manufacture their food sources.

Paratrophs, as the name imply this group includes all microscopic organisms which obtain their food by metabolism of their host cell, i.e. viruses, rickettsiae, and some bacteria.

Base on how they obtain carbon for the manufacture of organic substance: in this group, some bacteria, such as phototrophs, and chemolithotrophs require CO2 in other to grow. This bacteria are called authotrophs, because they manufacture their food by themselves. But some bacteria grow in the present of organic molecule, need the supply of that substance by external body; these bacteria are called heterotrophs, because they depend solely on external body to supply them with energy source, i.e organic substance require by the bacteria is sugar. The basis of sugar fermentation reaction pronounced, is by the possible value of carbon compound used as the source of energy production or carbon source use by different bacteria to find out the cause of the disease in bacteriology laboratories, this type of bacteria are called hytroph.

The feature of this organism is that they depend on the enzymatic material of their host cell before dividing into two exact copy of their parent, this process are mostly found in the viruses.

For many bacteria to grow successfully, the following substance is required;

water,

inorganic salt,

 nitrogen,

Sulphur.

NB: not all medially important organic bacteria required nitrogen, there are one that does not required direct nitrogen, their nitrogen is supply through organic compound.

Peptone: this is produce by catabolism of protein. These take place by using strong acid or enzyme i.e. trypsin or pepsin. The use of the enzyme depends on the sources of protein and the type of hydrolysis in question. Peptone is made with wide varieties of material hydrochloric acid change yield peptone as a result of this protein is catabolized to a single amino acid. Thus with enzyme, the catabolized of protein make long of the peptide in question different on a wider range.

The differences affect the activity of the compound prepared. Furthermore, if in some case the protein material composed carbohydrate, the expectation of these carbohydrate at the final state of the compound is for sure, when this are present, it therefore make the compound unsuitable for used. Example this occur in a media which is subjected for fermentation learning. Another way which check mate the growth of bacteria is the difference in temperature at which they grow. Below is the varieties of temperature which bacteria are likely to grow;

Psychrophiles: Bacteria of this class growth optionally in the temperature ranging from 15-18 degree Celsius.

Mesophile: Bacteria of this class growth optionally in the temperature ranging from 30-45 degree Celsius. Most of the medically important bacteria are found in this class.

Thermophile: Bacteria of this class growth optionally in the temperature ranging from 55-75 degree Celsius.
