Postponement of Election; NANS Called for resignation of INEC Chairman is Unlawful

National Association of Nigerian student (NANS) have come out to air their view based on postponement of president National assembly elections, that lead for the calling immediate resignation of INEC chairman Professor Manhood Yakubu.

NANS said call for the resignation of INEC chairman is unlawful.

The information was revealed by National Public relations officer of NANS, Mr Bestman Okereafor on Monday morning at Enugu State.

Mr. Bestman said despite we are not happy at the time and they way which postponement of the elections come, but they fill that the decisions taken by INEC is for the best interest of Nigerians.

He said it is a reality that the postponement of the elections by INEC has a great way exposed the faces of betrayal and which we expect political parties to be grateful for.

He further went ahead to point out that these is not the first time postponement of elections have taken place in Nigeria, he sited an example by saying that such situations happen in 2015 when Professor Atahiru Jega was the Chairman of INEC.

As such NANS solely believed that postponement of the elections is for the interest of Nigerians, in other to defence democracy in the country.

Bestman reiterate all Nigerian students, not to panic by taken law into their hand, but should remains peaceful as Nigerians will decides come 23rd of February 2019.
