Seven killed people, and Five Injured In Ondo Bank Robbery.

Seven people were reportedly killed in a bank robbery incident of an eleven-man gang of arm robbers attacked a branch of First Bank in Idoani, Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State.

According to The report, the robbers stormed the town this afternoon, shooting sporadically and broke the bank’s security doors with an explosive device.

The report has it that the bank is the only commercial bank in Idoani, serving the other neighboring towns as well.

According to report from Channels Television, it was learn that the robbers shot and killed seven people, including bank officials, a Police Inspector as well as two customers using the Automated Teller Machine (ATM).

Five other persons who sustained serious degree of injuries are presently on admission at the intensive care unit at the General Hospital in the town receiving treatment.

According to an eyewitness who give account on the incident said that the armed robbers escaped through the bush in the area with an unknown amount of money stolen from the bank.

Men of Nigerian army were said to have arrived at the scene Shortly after their escape.

A spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, SP Femi Joseph confirmed the incident to Channels Television.

He disclosed that one suspect has been arrested in connection with the robbery attack and investigations are ongoing to fish out the fleeing members.

He plead with residents to be law-abiding, and remain calm by not entertain fears as the police are on top of the situation.
