Emir Sanusi gets UN appointment a day after his emirate is split into 5

Emir of Kano Malam Muhammad Sanusi II, get United Nations (UN) appointment on Thursday, May 9, as a member of the new class of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) advocates, after his kingdom was diminished by Kano State Governor.
Omokoshaban.com gather that the UN secretary-general, Antonio Guterres give the announcement via his spokesperson, Farhan Haq, at a news conference in New York.

According to report by The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), said that the SDG advocates are 17 influential public figures dedicated to “raising awareness, inspiring greater ambition, and pushing for faster action on the SDGs.”
The news revealed that “Sanusi is one of the six new members of the group, which is co-chaired by President Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana and the prime minister of Norway, Erna Solberg”. Legit.ng said.

  2. Dia Mirza of India,

  3. Edward Ndopu of South Africa,

  4. Nadia Murad of Iraq and

  5. Marta Vieira da Silva of Brazil.
    Haq added that the six new members would take off from the previous six members that were made SDG advocate alumni.
    “The secretary-general looks forward to working with the group over the coming years to advance the SDGs,” he said.
