Heavily armed security men reportedly deployed to Emir Sanusi’s palace

Report yesterday reveal that Some heavily armed policemen were deployed to the palace of the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, and the residents of some senior council members of the Kano Emirate.

A report from Daily Trust on Saturday, May 11, disclosed that Hilux Vans numbering 10 with fully loaded with security personnel were stationed at the emir’s palace at Kofar Kudu, while another 10 patrol vehicles were deployed to the personal residence of chief of staff to the emir of Kano along Iyaka road.

The report further said that additional deployment of policemen were also stationed at the residence of another aide of the emir, the incumbent Galadiman Kano, Alhaji Abbas Sanusi, while the main entrance of Kano state government house was also guarded by security officials.

Confirming the development, When the Kano state police spokesperson, Haruna Abdullahi, was asked why the deployment?, he said he has no knowledge of the police operation been their, as such will not give comment on that for now, but. “I will find out from my superiors why police Mopol were deployed and communicate to you.

As soon as I get details of the operation, I will get back to you,” he said.

Their are claimed that, the security deployment may be connected with planned of presentation of letters of appointment to the four new emirs appointed by the state governor.

Meanwhile, Kano governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has said he has no knowledge of the court issuing restraining order for him not to create additional emirates in the state and giving staff of office to new emirs.
