Sharia police arrest 80 persons in Kano for eating in public during Ramadan

Kano State Sharia police also Known as Hisbah, has arrested 80 persons for eating in public during the holy month of Ramadan.

Meanwhile, the persons apprehended were said to be only Muslims because non-Muslims is not guided by the Islamic law.

But the report has it that they were admonished and set free because that was their first-time offence.

According to the spokesman of Hisbah in Kano state, Adamu Yahaya, disclosed that all the peoples arrested were Muslims their officers do not go after non-Muslims because they are not under Islamic law.

Responding to crime by the offender, Yahaya said some of the arrested people said that they were eating because they did not sight the Ramadan crescent moon personally. While some claimed that they are sick. He further said that all of them were admonished and set free because they were first-time offenders.
