OONI OF IFE DESCRIBES GOVERNOR OKOROCHA AS ONE OF NIGERIA’S BEST POLITICAL LEADERS

The Imo State governor, His Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha has reemphasized his belief in a one, united and peaceful Nigeria, urging Nigerian politicians to embrace peace and fairness as panaceas for development and prosperity for Nigeria. He also explained that he has no regrets for being a complete Nigerian. The governor stated this when he played host to first class traditional rulers from across Nigeria under the auspices of National Council of Nigerian Traditional Rulers led by the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Alhaji Saad Abubakar and His Royal Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ile-Ife.

According to the governor; “By birth and parentage, I am a full blooded Igbo man, as my both parents are Igbos from Ideato, but the North gave me life and breakthroughs, as I had my education and got some of the best partners and destiny helpers from the North, but I made my wealth from the Southwest.” He urged Nigerians to embrace peace and unity and see one another as siblings.

Speaking earlier the Sultan of Sokoto described the governor as a titled man of the Caliphate whom they are proud of. The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ojaja II, described the Imo State Governor, His Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha as one of Nigeria’s most responsible and respected politicians, urging other political leaders to borrow a leaf from the Imo State governor. He rated the governor’s developmental initiatives as among the best in the country.

According to the respected and cerebral first class monarch of the Yoruba, he is a witness to the numerous transformational legacies of the governor and they show a man who is sincere with his people. In his words;

“Nigerian traditional rulers are advocates and promoters of peaceful existence and peace across Nigeria and we are in Imo to deliberate on issues that shall improve peaceful living among Nigerians of all cultural, religious and political backgrounds.”

He explained that the council is not unaware of some political issues within the system as a result of the recently concluded general elections and assured that the council would offer its non-partisan ideas and suggestions on how to resolve them for the good of the country.

The traditional rulers also joined the governor to inspect some projects in the State, and witnessed the formal inauguration of the Imo State Traditional Rulers Parliament. Other traditional rulers present at the occasion include, the Obi of Onitsha, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Alfred Nnanyelugo Achebe, the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Professor Laz Ekwueme and a number of other traditional rulers from across Nigeria.
