Promise to focus youth and women empowerment

Dr. Senator Yakubu Oseni, a senator representing the people of kogi central, after his inauguration today, promise to focus on youth and women empowerment as his primary objective.

Oseni said this as he address his constituency.

His address read below

Dear respected constituents:

The journey that culminated into my official inauguration today as Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to represent my ever-determined good people of Kogi Central started in the last quarter of year 2018, when I heeded their call to contest.

My people, especially party members reinforced the call when they elected me to fly the flag of our party, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) through a primary election duly supervised by the country’s electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). And on the 23rd February, 2019, the mandate was given by you and sealed by God. All thanks be to God.

Like I always say in any forum that I have the opportunity to address you. I came into the political scene not for personal aggrandisement, vain ostentatious life but I was driven by innate passion to positively impact on humanity. Those that have been very close to me even before my stint at the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service (KIRS) would attest to my welfarism.

My people, henceforth, you can be rest assured you have a representative at the Red Chamber who will tirelessly defend your interest, lobby Federal Government projects to Kogi Central for the greater good of all. You did not elect me to sleep at the chamber, I will therefore not sleep until I considerably execute what we set out to do, that will have direct bearing on the lives of my people.

Our promise that we will focus on youth and women empowerment remains our primary focus. The era of giving petty items as empowerment scheme has gone for good.

I will be very transparent in whatever is accrued to you. Constituency allowance utilisation that was hitherto shrouded in secrecy will be laid open. Like I have told you before, strategic action plans to mitigate some of the glaring human development deficiencies in our dear constituency have been perfected.

At this juncture, I want to convey my unreserved appreciation to Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello and other members of APC in the state for their firm belief in our dream. Many people call him ‘White Lion’, ‘Destroyer of Old Political Order’ but l call him ‘Builder of Men’ and ‘Man of the Masses.’

The reward for hard work has always been elevation. The good people of Kogi State have done it before and I believe, they will still do it in November 16th when you will be re-elected as our Governor to consolidate on your achievements in the last three years.

I thank you all for coming and I humbly solicit your prayers, suggestions and advice as we begin the four-year journey.
May God reward you all.
