– URGES FG TO FASTRACK FULL TAKE OFF OF IMO INTERNATIONAL CARGO AIRPORT, OTHER FG PROJECTS IN IMO

Imo State governor, His Excellency Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha has showered his predecessor with encomiums for his foresight in conceiving and executing the biggest cargo airport in the entire country, describing the project as the gateway to the economic revival of the Southeast.

Governor Ihedioha who stated this during an inspection of some federal government projects in the State.

The governor who was obviously impressed at the huge economic potentials of the project, pressed on the aviation authorities to fast track efforts towards making the cargo section of the airport functional, arguing that the airport has enormous potentials for the entire Southeast and Nigeria’s economy as a whole.

The Imo International Cargo Airport is one of the many legacy projects of the immediate past governor, Distinguished Senator Owelle Rochas Okorocha. The cargo airport was built from scratch by His Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha and handed over to the Aviation Authorities under whose purview it falls to manage Airports in the country. This was one of the initiatives of the immediate past governor aimed at encouraging trade and commerce in the entire Southeast.

The Imo International Cargo Airport is one of the projects of the Rescue Mission administration, inaugurated by the Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Professor Yemi Osibanjo.
