Nigeria police officer attempted to commit suicide.
A Sergeant police officer attached to the Akwaete Police Division,in Abia State, known as Chukwudi, allegedly attempt to kill himself.
The reason behind his actions is yet to know as at the time of filling this report, but eyewitness who speak on the incident said, he attempt suicide, because his girlfriend dumpt him for another man, while some said it had an issue of depression.
Good news is that our correspondent learned that the Police Officer did succeed in killing himself after an alarm was raised identified as Chinyere Gift who is also from the area.
Sources from the area have it that the DPO who met him dangling on the tree almost immediately after hanging himself, used a knife to cut off the rope that Sergeant Chukwudi used to hang himself.
The DPO and other personnel that joined to bring their colleague down from the tree rushed him to the hospital where he was reportedly stabilized by the Medical Team at the hospital.
Unconfirmed report has it that the affected community leaders have barred police from the scene of the incident until a ritual was performed to appease the gods of the land according to their tradition.
The State Commissioner of Police, Ene Okon, in telephone conversation confirmed the incident.
CP Okon went further to disclose that the said Police Officer has been taken into custody for observation, adding that necessary actions would soon be taken
