Endorsement from Mr. President on GYB reelection, is an endorsement of continued poverty in Kogi

NOW THAT OUR ROYAL FATHERS ARE IN ABUJA.

The strange tactics of coercion of the entire 21 LGAs traditional leaders in Kogi State to Abuja, to meet with Mr President purely on political pilgrimage to beg for the President’s endorsement on Governor Bello’s second term bid is merely an attempt to create a looming quagmire in the traditional institution.

Firstly, any endorsement from Mr. President on GYB reelection, is an endorsement of continued poverty, deaths, suicide, hunger and bad governance on the good people of Kogi State.
Why is the governor so desperate now about coercing our revered traditional leaders to meet with the President?
This is a complete bastardization of royal stool.
When other APC governors were looking for second term, non of them mobilized traditional leaders from each local govt of their various state to anywhere.
Now, out of fear, they oblige to the whims and caprices of the governor, while they all understood the fact that our governor deserve no second term or such cheap endorsement. Where in the world will this happen, in a democratic setting where 21 traditional Royal Fathers will be dragged to meet with Mr President with mandate to press the President to endorse a sitting governor for second term.
Currently, Kogi has plethora of aspirants jostling for the office of governor both within APC and other parties, while the supposed neutral traditional institutions are been ferried to Abuja to pass a vote of confidence on a governor seeking reelection?

This is happening in our glaring eye, and it speaks the volume of fear, intimidation and pressure already instilled on our royal fathers in the last three years.

It bothers every right thinking Kogites and Nigerians by extension, why must a governor who claimed to have performed wonders since he came on board needs the interface of the royal fathers before the President? This absolutely not good for us now, and future generation considering our valued esteem for Royal stool.

Our position remains that of the fact that, governor Yahaya Bello doesn’t place the royal fathers in their rightly abode of respect, if not where on earth will this happen?
Are the royal fathers members of his political party? No governor in history attempts this before. Royal institution are known to be custodian and champions of neutrality, why is the governor now trying to configure royal institution into an arm or agency of his political party?
We strongly feel royal fathers should be left out of the murky waters of politics
Even during the days of late Gen. Sani Abacha, when he intends to transform from military head of state to a civilian President, we never had it this bad and embarrassing.

It is most worthy, to once again, draw the attention of President Buhari to this glaring and painful fact steering the face of Kogites since the inception of governor Yahaya Bello led administration, that even the royal fathers themselves were deeply and negatively affected by the misrule of governor Bello. They are aware that our governor is owning salaries and pensioners ranging from 12 to 36 months despite the bailout funds, Paris refund, monthly allocation and other intervention funds received. No project has been commissioned by you Mr President since three and half years of Governor Bello, Kogi has being a hell on earth since his emergence.
As we speak, the royal fathers themselves are being owed allowances and salaries running in different months. This is unprecedented!

We want Mr President to know that their coming is not in the interest of the good people of Kogi State, not at all, but all is done out of fear of harassment.
Mr President sir, we urge you to send an independent team down to Kogi state, to ascertain the truth of the people’s position and take a position between what you will be told by the traditional leaders, and the masses who directly feel the heat of mis-governance.

We are bold to reiterate that any endorsement of governor Yahaya Bello amounts to endorsing more poverty, penury, worthless life for the good people of Kogi State. Kogi people have suffered enough, we appeal to Mr President to look elsewhere, as Mr President know, how many APC second term seeking governor coerced each of their local govt royal fathers in their state during the last governorship election across the country before they emerge?
We urge President Buhari to digest this, and ruminate over it.
