Nigerian professor may have uttered certain statements that are untrue, before he was sacked by Ghana University

One of the, Ghanian, Kwame Kekeli Bokpe who react to why Nigeria professor was sacked by Ghanian university stated that, the professor might have say something that is not true.

Bokpe saod, “This Nigerian professor may have uttered certain statements that are untrue, but l see him more of a braggadocio than a trouble-maker. We welcomed him with open arms and appreciated his effort, but he made certain media reportage against his people get the better part of him to go on ego-tripping.
He made some statements which were historically untrue. It is never true that Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe (Zik) showed Ghana’s first President Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, the way to US to access education at Lincoln University. Nnamdi Azikiwe, himself, in his own autobiography asserted that it was Ghanaian, Dr James Emman Kwegyir Aggrey (Aggrey of Africa) who inspired him to access education in the United States. He said when he heard Aggrey speaking as a member of Phelp Stokes Educational Committee in Nigeria, he made up his mind to go to USA for education. Other people Aggrey influenced were Dr Hastings Kamuzu Banda, and Nkrumah, who was Aggrey’s student in Achimota College.
For Prof Nwagbara’s information, after Aggrey had his education in USA, Dr Mark Christian Hayford of Ghana also went to USA for his PhD before Nnamdi Azikiwe, Chief Mbadiwe aka Man of Timber and Calibre and Mazi Mbonu Ojike aka Boycott all the Boycottables, went to USA to pursue their education. Nnamdi Azikiwe’s contemporary in USA education was Kweku Bankole Awoonor-Renner aka Mustapha Renner, the Elmina-born Gold Coast Communist, journalist and leader of the Muslims Association Party (MAP).
As who had education first, between Ghana and Nigeria, Isabelita Hermona aka ESI Mansa had her education in 1640s in Spain, Prof Antoine Wilhelm Amo from Axim was Professor of Philosophy at Halle in Germany, there Dr Eliza Jacobus Capitein of Elmina and Dr Carl Protten of Accra.
Even when we talk about abolition fight in the diaspora, Quobyna Ottobah Cuguano of Ajumako started the advocacy before Gustavus Vassa aka Olaudo Equino.
As for the agenda for independence and why Ghana had it first, he spoke like an elementary boy.

Then the point of the education system. A simple googling would have told most of you that until last year, Nigerian universities hardly made it to the continent’s top 100. Over the years, Nigeria has failed to invest in education that makes it world class. People start four-year programmes and complete in 6 years. Certificates are easily forged and not worth the paper they’re printed on. Why wouldn’t your students come to Ghana?
But Ghanaian authorities should temper justice with mercy and just let him go home to enjoy his egba and egusi soup. Ghana and Nigeria, we are just one people.”
