The first batch of pilgrims from Lagos has departed to Madinah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The 420 pilgrims comprises 248 female and 72 male from the total 2,270.
Addressing newsmen at the Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Amir-ul-Hajj, Dr. AbdulLateef AbdulHakeem appealed to the pilgrims to adhere strictly to the rules and regulations guiding the conduct of the pilgrimage.
Chairman Ad-hoc committee for the 2019 Hajj operation, Alh. Ahmed Jebe, assured the pilgrims of adequate welfare in the area of accommodation, feeding and health services
The spokesperson for the Hajj Board, Alhaji Jamiu Dosunmu, said the pilgrims, who departed with flynas Airbus A330 are expected to land in Madinah on Thursday at 7.00 am Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, KSA time.
