Yahaya Bello in fear as admiral usman jibril takes kogi by storm, declared intention

A governorship aspirant for the November 16 gubernatorial election in Kogi state, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Vice Admiral Jibrin Usman, has said the people of the state are under government of scavengers and must be rescued.

Addressing the crowd that thronged the Jibrin open square in Ayingba when he officially declared his aspiration to govern Kogi state, Jibrin lamented how civil servants in the state have resorted to begging due to non-payment of salary. He assured that workers welfare will top his priority, if elected.

The former Chief of Naval Staff noted that the state was captured from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015 due to frantic efforts put together by people who believed in a better Kogi state.

“Kogi State today is governed by section of people who have since lost touch with the ideals and agenda of APC and this have impacted negatively on the people of the state.

“In my time, Kogi state will witness progress, stability, payment of salaries, visible improvement in education, health and infrastructural development.

“Local government workers are protesting across the state due to nonpayment of their salaries while our pensioners are dying daily. Our state is under siege, that is why today I stand before you to declare my intention to rescue our state,” he said.

Jibrin, who acknowledged the struggle of late Prince Abubakar Audu for the emergence of APC in the state, added that he inherited the Audu/ Falake structures to continue with the vision of the former governor.
