Gov. Bello flag off Free Fertilizer distribution to farmer in Kogi

Kogi state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has flag off free fertilizer distribution to farmer in Kogi State.

The flags off the free fertilizer distribution is aim at reducing the cost of farming in the state.

Kogi State commissioner for LG & Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Engr. Abubakar Sadiq Ohere, yesterday, while addressing farmers said the state government expected an improvement in the level of transparency in the distribution of free fertilizer for the 2019 farming season.

Engr. Ohere who represented the Governor stated this at the flag-off of fertilizer for the 2019 cropping season in Ministry for LG and Chieftaincy Affairs. According to him, 100,000 metric tones of fertilizer was purchased by the state government for distribution in the 2019 farming season,” the Commissioner added.

He said with Ejiba plantation Rice and Rice mill in place the State can be rest assured of boosting it internally revenue by producing 3000 tons of rice monthly and over 36,000 tons annually.

He also said in view of the State government Commitment to agriculture has assisted farmers with other farm inputs such as equipment, chemical and seeds in order to boost their moral.

Speaking earlier, the ALGON secretary and Administrator of Olamaboro LG, Hon. Friday Nicodemus has on behalf of the 21 LG Administrators beseech the beneficiaries in the State to judiciously make use of the Governor gesture.
