Ihedioha Embarks on Massive Maintenance of Okorocha’s Roads

The Governor of IMO State, Emeka Ihedioha has embarked on massive maintenance of road build by his predecessor, Rocha’s Okorocha.

The information was contains in a report send to Omokoshaban.com news room by ONWUASOANYA FCC JONES.

According to Jones, “It is some piece of good news from our dear Imo State, as the governor, through the ministry of works has reportedly approved maintenance works to be done on roads in the State capital.

Commuters in the State have been groaning over the terrible condition of roads, especially, in the State capital, Owerri.

The immediate past governor of the State, who is currently a member of the Nigerian Senate, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, met a State without roads and from his first day in office, embarked on an ambitious opening up, expansion and construction of roads across the State. Consequently, Owelle holds the record of having constructed and expanded the highest number of roads by any governor in the country, while not allowing other sections of public need to suffer.

Chief Ihedioha had come under heavy criticisms for allowing some of these roads to go bad within the last six months of his emergence as governor, while some commentators have argued that these roads were not as bad while Okorocha was in power, thereby raising suspicion that some PDP contractors may have deliberately destroyed some portions of the road, in order to create opportunities for jobs for themselves and their companies.

However, it is commendable that the governor is finally hearkening to the appeal by Imolites to begin maintenance work on these roads.”
