Kogi Deputy Governor, Edward Onoja Visit Egume, Home Town of Wife, Promise Palace Expansion for Onu of Egume

Kogi State Deputy Governor Chief Edward Edward Onoja, yesterday, paid a Thank You visit to Egume, home town of the Second Lady of the state, Her Excellency, Ejura Edward Onoja. Hitting the Palace of Onu Egume, His Royal Highness, Etila Ajeka, wept for the level of abandonment of past leaders and community stalwarts whom he termed as “big for nothing” for nothing even elevating the face of Egume, neither the traditional stool of the land. Another community chieftain, High Chief Amade Edime thanked the Deputy Governor for coming, citing that Egume is fully APC as the party delivered in the region at the last elections. He also regretted on behalf of the community, the attempt made by hired armed men whom he called “miscreants” who made an attempt on the life of the wife of the Deputy Governor of Kogi state after she cast her vote at her polling unit, shooting into her vehicle, deflating the tyres before she escaped by whiskers. He further revealed that as a daughter of the community, the people of Egume have dug into the ground for thorough investigation on who the hooligans and their sponsors which useful information is available for security agencies to deal decisively with the culprits. He also reminded the Deputy Governor of the palace of the Onu Egume which has been left in shambles, according to his words “shameless abandonment from big for nothing politicians and billionaires who are sons of the soil”.

Responding, His Excellency thanked the people of Egume for their votes. He reiterated the stance that the recent election was a contest between political parties and not ethnic nationalities as tribal bigots of pocket agenda would always make the people believe. He reassured the Egume people of the readiness of the New Direction Government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello to do more for the people of Kogi state, Egume, Dekina Local Government Area inclusive. He also promised to look into the palatial abode of the traditional ruler of the land for a possible expansion within the next two years. He also enumerated the need to focus on the environment of Egume as it leads to infrastructural and job creation. He cited the ongoing work at Dekina Township and Anyigba/Old Egume Egume Township roads which he says, Egume should naturally be the next extension of such level of development. He thanked the women groups, chiefs, youths and all indigenes of Egume for casting their ballot for the BellOnoja mandate which he assures would be promising and rewarding to Kogi indigenes.
