There was never free and fair election since the birth of Democracy in Nigeria, 1999. Highest ranking ever recorded is FAIR which is in some cases where the will of the masses can not be tampered with.
The difference between APC and PDP, the two major political party in Nigeria is name, the brain box behind them are the same political gladiators in the country.
In the past, during election period. Kogi central use to be the battle field while real election took place in East and West. Pre-election, during and post election violence took lives of many young promising Youths but now, reverse is the case.
Wada was an accidental PDP candidate just like Atiku who bought their way through their financial capability not by merit. Wada knew nothing about Kogi politics all what he was interested on is to become a governor as his birthright.
To be a governor of Kogi state, you need to device a strategy to break the unity of Ebiras or seek for their support. Late Prince Abubakar always maintain the first strategy while Idris and Capt. Wada used both to succeed their devilish mission.
Engr. Wada capitalise on Census report believed that he’s very comfortable with 9 local Governments within his jurisdiction while Yahaya Bello copied from his political mentor Late. Abubakar Audu by working day and night seeking for support from all the 21 local governments area across the state while Engr. Wada sitting at the comfort of his house expecting the bulk votes from his senatorial districts.
To be a leader, you have to be guided with your utterances. Wada finally shot himself when he appeared on National television and declared that Kogi leadership is their birthright, he said and I quote “if i win, heaven will not fall and at the same time i don’t need the support of other senatorial districts if they vote for me good and if they don’t “who cares”? That, am very comfortable with my 9 local governments out of 21″.
To back his statements, he refused visiting Central during campaign period and never visited any Royal father for blessing thinking their impact has no value threatening to dethrone Obaro of Kabba on assumption of duty.
PDP chieftains across other senatorial districts immediately call Wada to tender public apology which he decline till date. Few days to election, political tsunami hits Wada’s train as thousands of his supporters decamped to APC to work with untribalised digital Governor. Engr. Wada keep loosing his supporters while Governor Bello reconciling with the aggrieved members of the APC through reconciliation committee set up by APC chieftains.
At the end, two local governments was snatched from his nine local governments he was hoping on the rest was narrowly won. In West, he was able to maneuver his way to pick two out of seven while APC defeated him mercilessly in the remaining five. Central result was like a knock-out as result from only Okene local government sent a signal to the general public that this is the right time for the world to know that land mass does not vote during election but population does. “You have population and land mass we have the voting strength”
Those who are ignorantly saying Yahaya Bello did not deserve to win, let me ask you. 1) Does Yahaya have an opponent? (2) Do you think he will get the support of at least 60% from each of the 21 local government if they don’t want him? (3) Is Kogi state a PDP or APC state?
Kogi was formerly PDP state, when Yahaya came he was able to delivered Kogi from the hand of evil PDP. During 2019 general election, he was able to delivered it to APC, Presidential election won, Senate 2/3, 3/0 in focus. Rep. Only lost two seats rest APC, State assembly all APC Mr. 25/25.
Yahaya did not only won his election, the clear margin proved that he was generally accepted. Let me educate you if you think Yahaya Bello sent thugs to disrupt PDP strong hold to win his election. Did you know if all the registered votes “not expected accredited votes” in those polling units affected was to be inherits in favor of Wada without a single vote to Yahaya then, Yahaya Bello will still win? That’s the reason why INEC declared Yahaya Bello as the winner of the just concluded governorship election in Kogi state.
Those who tag Kogi election as worst ever in Nigeria because Bello won, how does your governor won his election? If you forgot so soon about River state election and the recent, Kano State election did you know you’re a hypocrite?. My brothers/Sisters, leave Kogi politics for Kogi people and focus your state. If you’re from Kogi State why not stop online politics and come down to Kogi where real men demonstrate their rights “online no go give you that thing you dey look for” politics is local only the strong can survive in political jungle.
