Tafa L.G Election won by PDP cannot be Subverted – PDP

The just concluded local government elections in Tafa Local Government has clearly been won by Mr Dangana Emmanuel of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, any attempt to subvert the will of the people will be opposed vehemently.

The election was conducted since Saturday, the 30th of November 2019, having collated results from the wards and sensing PDP has won 8 out of the 10 wards in the LGA, a high ranking APC member in collaboration with the police highjacked the Returning officer from the venue of the result collation at the LGA secretariate in Sabon Wuse, ever since then, the people of the LGA numbering in thousands have besieged the Secretariat, for days running, they have slept at the Secretariat for 2 days now and have vowed to remain there till the votes are declared.

This unnecessary wish to subvert the will of the people of Tafa LGA by APC is an invitation to break down of law and order.

Nigerlites and Nigerians should hold the State Independent Electoral Comission under Alhaji Aminu Baba Alhaji who everyone knows was a Senetorial candidate of the CPC in 2011 ( CPC is one of the legacy parties that merge to form APC 2013)

Also the security agencies in the state cannot be completely absorbed if the situation degenerates into lawlessness.

Already we have a report of three persons killed in Tafa during the election on the election day, one of the victim was shot at in public glare by an APC stalwart, who escaped by the skin of his teeth, leaving tension to run high.

We maintain that election have been won by the PDP and any attempt to change the result will be matched with reaction, the people have spent two nights at the collation Centre already and will remain there if it will take a month to declare the results.

Signed: Bar. Tanko Beji,
State Chairman, PDP,
Niger State.
