Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu leader of Edo State All Progressive Congress (APC) faction has reacted to insinuations that Oshiommohle is the sponsoring him to contests against the current Governor,Godwin Obaseki.
Ize-Iyamu said that the APC National Chairman is not supporting any candidates.
“I do not think that the problem in APC is strictly between the National Chairman and the present governor of Edo State. People have tried to create that impression.
The National Chairman of APC is not aspiring to govern Edo State again and anytime you listen to the Governor, the major issue is that he must have a second term.
If the National Chairman is not aspiring to serve again as Governor of the State, it means that there is really no conflict.
Perhaps, the issue is will the National Chairman support (Obaseki) for a second term? Shockingly, the National Chairman of the party is not supporting any of the Governorship aspirants.
I think support can only come in when a Candidate emerges. What is important is to reach out to those across the divide and talk to the party leaders across the State.
There is need to come together and forge a common front. Remember, the Governor will go one day and the National Chairman of the party’s tenure will end one day, but by the grace of God, the party will remain.
We are not going to destroy the party because somebody is insisting on a second term and has issues with the National Chairman of APC.
So, it is important that we talk to those who genuinely believe in the party so that we do not fight unnecessarily”….Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu
