Governor Yahaya Bello lauds Relocation of Naval Drafting Office to Kogi State

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has commended the Nigerian Navy for relocating the Command Naval Drafting Office to its permanent site at Nigerian Naval Ship (NNS) Lugard at Banda, Lokoja.

The governor gave the commendation while receiving the Commandant of the Command Drafting Office, Rear Admiral Ebony Aneke in his office in Lokoja on Thursday.

Speaking during the visit, the Commandant of the NNS Lugard, Rear Admiral Olotun commended the governor for his contributions to the command and other security agencies in the state.

He said the essence of the visit was to officially notify the governor that the Command Naval Drafting Office has been relocated to Lokoja and to also introduce the Commandant of the Naval Drafting Office to the governor

He said the Commandant has fully resumed his duty in the state.

Rear Admiral Olotun reminded the governor that the Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, had during the inauguration of the NNS Lugard officers/ratings quarters stated that the Command Naval Draft be relocated from Lagos to Lokoja immediately.

He said the Naval Drafting Office was officially moved to Lokoja on January, 22, 2020.

In his remarks, the commandant of the Nigerian Naval Drafting Office, Rear Admiral Ebony Aneke thanked the governor for his support for the security agencies in the state over the years and the success of his administration in the area of fighting insecurity in the state.

He said the Command Naval Drafting Office was responsible for the central administration of career of all the command’s soldiers from their recruitment to their retirement period like the Nigerian Army Records.

He said the command Naval Drafting Office is similar to the Command Army Record but slightly different in structure, noting that Lokoja is going to witness an increased military presence who will be coming to the command for their records, career development and retirement processes noting, such inflows of military officers will boost the security of the state.

He said with such operations, the command need to officially seek for the governor’s blessings and cooperation.

Governor Bello mentioned that the Nigerian Navy that he has come to know of recent has been very professional and disciplined, adding that they have making the country proud.

He revealed that in every assignments whether on the sea, land or any other capacity, the Navy had helped to stabilise the economic fortune of the country, particularly in Kogi state

He appreciated the Navy, particularly the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas for inaugurating a Navy barracks in the state, noting that such was a welcomed development.

Rear Admiral Ebony Aneke was accompanied by Commodore Gideon Kashim and Navy Captain Dotun Duyile.
