Senator Shehu Sani has reacted to banning of street begging in Kano State.
The former Senator who react through his official Twitter handle handle say that it is not possible to ban street begging.
In his tweet, he said many State have tried it before but they failed.
He said “A Law no matter how punitive can’t stop or end begging. Many states tried it in the last twenty years, it never worked.”
He point out that to address the issue of begging in the society, economic, religious and cultural, which he said is the contributing factors must be address.
He said “The Economic, Social, Religious and Cultural contributing factors must be addressed.
“A law enforced can disperse them for a while and the factors will return them.”
